MAY, 2000 MINUTES

The meeting of the Miami Valley (Ohio) Study Club was held on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at 6:00 p.m. at the Huber Heights Public Library. Twenty-two members and six guests were present. Our guests were Carl and Charlene Bowman of Clarksville, Ohio, Joanne Beekhuizen of West Milton, Ohio, Barbara Dixon of Loveland, Ohio, Joanna Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mary Jane Humes of Decatur, Illinois.

Our upcoming events include:
Annual Picnic on Saturday, July 15 at 4:00 p.m. at Phyllis Smith's house in Springfield, Ohio
Annual Pig Roast on Saturday, September 9 in Laura, Ohio.

Program for the October meeting will be on Cambridge Arms, led by Frank and Vicki Wollenhaupt.

We dispensed with Show and Tell due to the size of the display and the length of the program on Caprice led by David Ray. The variety of pieces and colors, some of them extremely rare, was stunning. David had a helpful handout and a wealth of great information for the serious Caprice collector as well as for the novice. People who helped him with the program included Frank and Vicki Wollenhaupt, George and Bev Stamper, John and Helen Wilt, Fred Schaefer, Dave and Sue Rankin, Mac and Georgia Otten.
