FEBRUARY, 2001 MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Larry Everett. There were 16 members present.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Rankins volunteered to host the May meeting since the meeting date is also Election day and we cannot meet at the library.

Frank Wollenhaupt reported on the candlestick project. He has received the list of candlesticks from several members, and he is still waiting to hear from others. He will make the decision as to which candlesticks will be included in the slide presentation, and will come to each member's home to photograph the candlesticks.

If anyone is interested in running for the National Cambridge Collectors Board, please let Larry Everett know this week.

The cost to sponsor a showcase in the new museum will be $1000. It was moved by Frank Wollenhaupt and seconded by Will Acord that the Miami Valley Study Club sponsor a showcase. The motion carried unanimously.

With the death of Jim Barbian, there is now a vacancy on the Program Committee. Interested members should contact Ron Hufford or Larry Everett.

NEW BUSINESS:

Larry and Susan Everett have been selected to chair the Glass Dash at the annual Convention. Any member that would be interested in helping, please let Larry know. Also regarding the convention, another group will be meeting in Cambridge the same week-end as the Cambridge Collectors. So it is imperative that room reservations be made as soon as possible.

The next meeting will be March 13, 2001. The program will be "Confessions of a 1940 Bride" by Larry Everett. This will be a program stems of the 40's. Everyone should be examples of stems of this period, including non Cambridge stems. The program will be very interactive and participatory. Larry is particularly interested in Rosepoint carmen, Prinstine, gold encrusted Rosepoint, or gold edge Rosepoint.

Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
