MARCH, 2001 MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the President, Larry Everett. There were 24 members and one guest present.

OLD BUSINESS:

The museum committee will contact the Treasurer at the time the $1000 is needed for sponsoring a showcase.

NEW BUSINESS:

One of the members asked if dates had been set for the Picnic, Pig Roast, and Christmas Party. Larry Everett will contact Phyllis Smith as to available dates for the picnic and Christmas party. The pig roast is usually the first Saturday after Labor Day.

The club was asked for a preferential location for the showcase we are sponsoring. The cases on the perimeter of the room are permanent. Those in the center of the room are moveable. No determination was made for location. It was decided that the notation on the case should be "Sponsored by the Miami Valley Study Club".

The Miami Valley Study Club will present a program at convention on "Everglades". The program will be the first one on Friday afternoon. The time limit is one-half to one hour. Larry requested additional Everglades glass from members for the display at convention. There was a suggestion to provide an extensive handout that would be available for a fee that would then be returned to the museum fund. There was also a suggestion that two clubs per year should be asked for presentations at convention.

At the quarterly meeting, Ken Phillipi met with members to discuss study clubs and new membership. One of the suggestions was for continuing members to serve as ambassadors for first time members at convention to answer question, and provide an orientation to the events.

Larry and Susan Everett will chair the Glass Dash. Larry needs volunteers to assist with various tasks. There is still dealer space available for this event.

The next meeting will be April 10, 2001. The program will be "Collecting on the Internet" by Will and Bev Acord.

There being no more business, the meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
