SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at Swigart Park in Laura, Ohio, at 4:25 p.m. by
President Larry Everett. Twenty-eight members and four friends were present.
There was no Treasurer's report. However, he reminded everyone that dues for the coming
year are payable any time.
Old Business: Dave Rankin led a discussion of the proposal of our Study Club to create an
exhibit for the Boonshoft Museum in Dayton for the year 2003. A handout was passed out and
ideas were discussed concerning developing an exhibit of the Ohio Glass and Pottery
Industry and its contribution to Ohio's economy. More discussion will be held on this
ongoing project.
New Business: Members generously volunteered their knowledge and talents to present
programs for our meetings this coming year:
October: "Stop It" - led by the Wollenhaupts
November: "Rosepoint" - led by the Ottens
December: Christmas Party
January: "Nudes" - led by the David Ray
May: "Trademarks and Labels" - led by the Rankins
February, March, and April are still open. (Get those creative juices flowing!)
There was a discussion of the Quarterly Meeting that was held in August at the new museum
in Cambridge. Our Study Club had 13 members present. We are urged to communicate our ideas
and opinions about the new museum to David Ray, our member who serves on the museum
committee.
We have been asked to make our booklet/handout from the Everglade program we presented at
convention in June available for NCC book sales. George Stamper moved that we give the
master copy of the booklet to NCC to manage and stipulate that all profits from the sale
of the booklet go to the Endowment Fund. The motion was seconded by Frank Wollenhaupt. The
motion passed.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at 7:00 pm. at the Huber Heights Public
Library.
The motion to adjourn was made by Dave Rankin and seconded by Georgia Otten.
