March 12, 2002

The meeting was called to order by the President, Larry Everett, at 7:00 p.m.  There were 19 members present.

It was moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes since copies had been mailed to each member. The Secretary read a Thank You from the NCC for contribution to the endowment.

The Treasurer reports a previous balance of $359.61, collection of $10.00 dues, collection of $30.00 for the Christmas card fund which was donated to the NCC endowment, leaving a final balance of $369.61.

OLD BUSINESS:

David Rankin handed out a sample narrative for the wall graphics for the 2003 exhibit that Georgia Otten had prepared on the Heisey Company. This demonstrates the approximate size and verbage that should be included. Other assignments were made for the display.

NEW BUSINESS:

The Huffords have been asked to take charge of the silent auction at the convention, the proceeds of which will go to the General Fund. This will not be a "scratch and dent" sale, and donated items should have a value of at least $25.00. The auction will be held on Friday night. Each study club is being asked to donate items for the auction.

Judy and Ken Rhoads volunteered to lead the mentoring program for the new members at the convention. Judy presented the program at the quarterly meeting, and it received approval from the NCC. She then reviewed the program for the club.

Each new member will have a badge with a special ID so that they can be recognized as a new participant. Mentors and officers will also have special identification on their badges. There will be two orientation meetings for mentors, one on Wednesday, and one on Thursday after the auction. New attendees will be assigned to various dinner tables to mingle with the existing members to get to know them.

Georgia Otten reviewed plans for the Grand Opening of the museum. This is to be a study club event. There is to be a budget of $1500, and NCC is asking for donations from each club. Georgia will contact Ken Fillipini about our reluctance to pay $500 from the club, if only three clubs are asked to provide funds.

Larry Everett has asked Mark Nye for the Miami Valley study club to present the first program on Friday at 11:00. The title will be "Candlelight Review of Cambridge Glass Production".

The next meeting will be held on April 9. Bev Acord will present the program on "Insuring your glass".

The meeting adjuourned at 7:40 p.m.

Respectully submitted,
