October 8. 2002 In the absence of the president, the meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mac Otten. There were ten members present. OLD BUSINESS: There was no old business. NEW BUSINESS: The Columbus Wildflowers are heading up the silent auction at convention in 2003. They are seeking input on the process. One suggestion is to hold this from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm. on Friday while people are milling around waiting for the show to open. This area is too crowded to hold it during a meal. Another suggestion for convention is to have a raffle on Thursday evening, possibly for the first ten places in line for the show. Further discussion will follow at a later date. It was reported that all officers of the NCC have been reinstated. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:25. The schedule is as follows: January 6, 2003, clear old exhibit, January 24, preview party with sponsors. January 30, party for large donors to museum in honor of the two new exhibits. The official name for the exhibit will be "Earth, Sand & Fire, Pottery and Glass in Ohio". The museum staff will be preparing a media kit to explain about the exhibit and also to use as informational material to solicit donors for contributions. Display cases were assigned to each of the manufacturers that will be represented. The display will be divided into two three month segments, with half of the manufacturers represented during each period. Cambridge and Heisey will be represented during the entire time, but the displays will change. Respectfully submitted, |
